Tom came to Tampa in 1972 and worked for 10 years as a sports writer for the Tampa Tribune, covering high school sports, Florida State football, the PGA Tour and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He received his degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.
He spent four years in the investment banking field at Shearson American-Express, Dean-Witter and Perkins-Smith. He specialized in banks and savings and loans. In 1985 he became a licensed real estate agent in Florida and has worked in nearly every category of property for the past 29 years including residential and commercial sales and leasing.
Tom’s interest include football, golf, classic British cars and animal rescue. He authored his first book The Gospel According to Little Matthew after experiencing the joys of adopting a miniature pinscher in need of a good home.
Tom, a resident of Tampa Palms, is an active member of Sons of AmVets, Squadron 4, based in north Tampa and is a 42-year member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Temple Terrace.
