Over the past 14 years, FER agents have invited Clients, Family and friends to our annual Christmas Open House as a way of saying thank you to all who are a part of what we do everyday. This year however, we chose turn our efforts and resources to those you are in need and invited our clients to join us in making a difference in the lives of some local families. On December 3rd, our agents gathered and filled enough grocery bags to feed more than 100 families. We distributed the donations through 6 local schools and 2 churches. The generosity of our clients was repaid in full with the hearfelt thanks of a number of people who called and wrote to us to say how much it meant to them at a time when they needed a hand.
Michelle Weinhold, the General Manager of FER who came up with the idea, says she is still receiving donations that will be distributed soon. “The story and picture in the local paper (Neighborhood News) has generated additional interest from generous local families and businesses who want to get involved” Weinhold says. While planning and coordinating this year’s effort was a new experience, what we learned will help us make and even bigger impact next year.
